My Top 10 books to kick start your personal + spiritual development
This was so hard to narrow down. I have a huge library of books which have supported and guided me in my journey. But I wanted to share with you the ones that have collectively been integral to creating the higher version of me. Check them out and comment below on which ones have been integral to your development!
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Stephen R. Covey
Stephen R. Covey was one of the first books I read on my coaching journey.
If you're ready to shift your perspective on how you live your life, then the 7 habits will be key in your journey. Be prepared for change and make some tough choices!
The outcome is in the title!
Who knew! Not me, that's for sure.
The Secret taught me the Law of Attraction & reconnected me with faith & my power to change my circumstance.
If you want something so badly & is in line with your highest good, you can make it happen... IF you create the space and let go of the baggage!
The Chimp Paradox
Professor Steve Peters
Before I read this book, I honestly felt that I was the only one who shared her brain with an inner chimp 😂
This book normalises the inner chimp, & brings it back into control, explaining why we may need our inner chimp, what happens when our chimp is in control & talking to the chimp of people we love or face in our lives.
Women who Run with the Wolves
Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D.
Won't lie... it's a hard read. Each sentence I re-read multiple times 🙈
But you wont be disappointed!
Clarissa is an incredible writer & you will find yourself joining the dots of your story to date, with your divine feminine, the lessons you need to learn to become who you are today, and who you want to become.
Girl, Wash Your Face
Another early read, Rachel Hollis was pivotal on my journey as she showed me that you don't need to let your past define who you are, but be a part of your story.
Her incredible life story is an easy story to read of strength & personal power. But most of all, she shows that each & every one of us can rewrite how our story ends.
The Miracle Morning
Hal teaches you a way of life which will change your life! As a busy professional, it can be hard to pursue your dreams and work towards your goals when the major obstacle of "life" "gets in the way".
Although I no longer follow the Miracle Morning religiously, it was a valuable tool which supported me in a time of chaos, and will continue to be a tool I integrate as and when I need it.
How to be Human: The Manual
Ruby Wax, the Neuroscientist & the Monk will keep you entertained for hours as they normalise our human experiences of emotions, fears, attachment & other obstacles from taking action.
I recommend listening to the audio version for entertainment value as they translate a highly complex subject into funny & accessible for the average non-scientist (like myself).
You can heal your life
This book was the portal to me being my own saviour of my life.
It's literally a guide to how your thoughts lead to action & how they manifest in your body.
Louise will navigate you through the numerous beliefs we have been exposed & evolved through life.
You are the saviour to the problems you perceive to possess!
Why Woo-Woo Works
David R. Hamilton Ph.D.
The most recent of my reads, David R. Hamilton explains the science behind my core beliefs & how I work.
Although I haven't felt I've needed the validation, I do love science & was so excited that I too could explain spiritual tools & methodologies in a scientific way which is more widely accepted, & thus help more people.
The 5 Second Rule
So simple, yet so powerful!
Mel Robbins shares her story & how one of the most used & valuable tool was created, & how it turned her life around.
She will explain how your mind can get in the way, and when to use the 5 second rule.
Tip: works great with the Miracle Morning!
