An Introduction into Yoga - Find the Fundamentals
Saturday 28th January - £15
Please book to confirm your spot with Déda - Derby
In this lighthearted workshop, I will share with you some of the basic principles of yoga, so that you feel confident and happy enough to attend a regular class and reflect on what a yoga practice can mean in your every daily life off the mat.
We can often overlook the role of the breath in supporting the nervous system to restore balance in the mind and body.
We will spend some time connecting with the breath and explore some tools to help energise and calm the mind and nervous system.
You will gain insight into what meditation is and isn’t, experience a small meditation practice, before being led through a vinyasa yoga flow.
I will share some of the most common postures with you, and touch on how the poses can be adapted to help you build on your inner strength and flexibility.
The workshop will end with a restorative body scan, allowing the mind and body to absorb what it wants to take away from the session, and to support the body to let go of residual tension.
The intention of this Intro to Yoga Workshop is for you to leave with a greater awareness of the benefits of what a Yoga practice is and is not, and what a 60 minute Yoga class with me can look like.
Aimed at complete beginners, those who would just like to come back down to basics and be a ‘beginner’ again and for those who would like to get a glimpse of what Yoga can mean away from the traditional mat.
This workshop promises to deliver a glimpse into the bliss that is Yoga!
Should you have any questions, I will be available to explore these with you following the workshop, and please connect with me if you have any personal concerns about attending the workshop.
